Hotel Ornate is located in the famous Melody area, this central location is within walking distance of food stores, the Blue area, markets and government offices. The hotel offers 23 well-equipped rooms all at 3-star standard. Hotel Ornate is about a 20 minutes drive from the Islamabad International Airport
I stayed in hotel ornate from January 31 till February 7, 2009, in a double bed room no.106.
ReplyDeleteI found the facilities available in Ornate much expensive as compared to the hotels in Sitra Market and blue area which are on a walking distance from Ornate.
The surrounding are very noisy, dusty and filthy. The rooms are not sound proof and all the rooms have windows opening to the road. Taxi stand is in front of the hotel. So the horns will not let you sleep peacefully the whole night. Sleeping in a room is like sleeping in the street.
The management are not responsible. I requested for laundary services and an extra matras for one night. No one responded. I spent the night on the carpet when my kids were with me.
The hotel are charging three times more from pick-up from the airport. Normally it cost Rs.250 euro from the airport to the hotel. They charge me Rs.700 euro. The same day they gave me a drop till Alshifa International Hospital in a common Yellow cab, and charge me Rs.500. While the normal charges are Rs.80.
When I was leaving, I paid in Euro. The rate of the Euro was Rs.102.59. They told me that they can only buy euro in Rs.100 and explained that the hotel have a different policy for buying foreign currency. I found this tactics very cheap. 7 days cost me 450 euro. They charge me 90 euro instead of 40 dollers per day.
Of course, I will not recommend this hotel to anyone travelling Pakistan. The best hotels one can find in Sitara Market, which are cheapter and the staff are more responsible and caring.
